Pittsburgh Steelers Star Sends Blunt Message To Aaron Rodgers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of two teams waiting for Aaron Rodgers to decide on his playing future.
They have an offer out to Rodgers (along with the New York Giants) and are waiting for him to get back to them. They have Mason Rudolph under contract after he signed a two-year deal with them last week but they're still unsatisfied with their quarterback room.
Russell Wilson remains an option after he helped the Steelers make the playoffs last season but they haven't gone down that road.
Steelers star defensive lineman Cam Heyward has seen the rumors about Rodgers and delivered a message via his "Not Just Football" podcast, saying you either want to be a Steeler or you don't.
He's ready for Rodgers to make a decision.
"I ain't doing that darkness retreat. I don't need any of that crap. You either want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don't," Heyward said. "That's simple. That's the pitch. If you want e to recruit, that's the recruiting pitch. Pittsburgh Steelers, if you want to be part of it, so be it. If you don't, no skin off my back."

Rodgers has long appreciated Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin so that could be a deciding factor when he's ready to announce his decision.
He spent the previous two seasons with the Jets but failed to get them back to the playoffs. He finished the 2024 season with 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
He became a free agent last Wednesday when the Jets officially released him.
The Steelers and Giants will remain in a holding pattern until Rodgers decides what he wants to do. Once that happens, they can pivot to other options, if necessary.
