People Boycotting Empire State Building Over Birthday Gesture For Taylor Swift

Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift received kind birthday wishes from just about everyone on Friday, including the Empire State Building.
The official X account for the Empire State Building shared a video of Swift visiting the iconic skyscraper along with this message: "Happy birthday @taylorswift13 from your favorite city!" It seemed like a pretty sweet gesture for a celebrity who has undoubtedly impacted this world in more ways than just one. Unfortunately, not every single person following the Empire State Building on social media wanted to see a post dedicated to Swift.
In fact, a few people claim they'll either unfollow the Empire State Building on social media or just refuse to go visit it.
"She's still pleasantly annoying," one person commented.
Another person replied, "Don't make me Unfollow you!"
"Such a ridiculous post. Act your age," a third person said.
"Could almost unfollow for this post," a fourth person wrote.

Before people judge Swift because she's reached an insane level of popularity, it's worth noting that she often uses her platform for good.
Two days ago, Swift took a trip to the Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She spent time with patients and even sang them a few songs.
"Baylee was chosen since she requests Taylor songs during her uncomfortable procedures! Ya'll she is amazing," a mother of one of the patients said, via KCTV. "On top of her sheer beauty she was just as kind and personable and down to earth. She gave Baylee a signed copy of her Eras Tour book and accepted a gift from Baylee as well."
While we understand people might be frustrated with the coverage Swift receives every single day of the week, boycotting an establishment over a birthday post for the "Shake it Off" singer sounds ridiculous.
It's also worth noting that Swift just wrapped up her Eras Tour. That means there's a good chance we'll see her at upcoming NFL games.
Starting on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will have three games in 11 days. It wouldn't surprise us if Swift attends all three of them.
