Patrick Mahomes Sparks Concern With Postgame Video

Patrick Mahomes exited Sunday afternoon's 21-7 win over the Cleveland Browns with an apparent injury. It didn't look very good.
Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback, appeared to suffer an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Browns. He limped off of the field and was replaced by backup quarterback Carson Wentz. Mahomes missed the final five minutes of game action in the win at Huntington Bank Field in Northeast Ohio on Sunday afternoon.
The Chiefs announced that Mahomes was questionable to return to the game with an ankle injury. Early reports suggest that he might have suffered an ankle sprain. It looked painful, as Mahomes was limping off of the field.
Now, a video has emerged, of Mahomes needing a cart to be taken around the stadium in Cleveland. That's not a very good sign for the Chiefs quarterback.
Taylor Kauffman of KMBC shared the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening.

Mahomes completed 19 of 38 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. He made a couple of big plays but was mostly stifled by the Browns defense. Still, the Chiefs improved to 13-1 on the year.
However, if Mahomes is going to miss some time with an ankle injury, that could be very bad news for Andy Reid and the Chiefs. It could be Carson Wentz time in Kansas City moving forward.
NFL insider Mike Florio reported on Sunday evening that Mahomes has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. He is considered to be week-to-week.
"Per source, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has a high-ankle sprain. He's probably week-to-week. Chiefs play Saturday against Texans, then the following Wednesday against the Steelers," he reported on Sunday evening.
Mahomes, who has led the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl wins, recently criticized his team's schedule. Kansas City has three games in 11 days, due to playing on a Saturday and then on Christmas Day.
"All you can do is focus on the game and the practice that you had that day," Mahomes said earlier this week. "I try to prepare my body all year long for this stretch by tailoring my workouts, tailoring how you practice and you prepare. The coaches do a great job of taking care of us on the practice field. We practice hard as anybody, but they know how to kind of dial it back when we need it.
"It is not a good feeling. I'm excited to play on Christmas to hopefully get back from what we did last year [when the Chiefs lost on the holiday to the Las Vegas Raiders], but you never want to play this many games in this short of time. It's just not great for your body. But at the end of the day, it's your job, your profession. You have to come to work and do it."
The Chiefs will now wait and see if Mahomes is able to go in Week 16.
