Monday was a good day for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The two-time MVP and Super Bowl champion officially reconfigured his contract, agreeing to $210.6 million guaranteed between 2023 and 2026, the highest four-year sum in NFL history.

Mahomes is now rewriting the quarterback contract market just as he has done the record books. The superstar signal caller issued a succinct and appropriate reaction to the news on Twitter.

"Thank you God!" Mahomes wrote.

Mahomes' "new" contract is actually just an updated version of the 10-year, $450 million one he signed back in 2020.

According to reports, he and the Chiefs will revisit the pact following the 2026 season. In all likelihood, if Mahomes continues on his current track, they will have to rework the deal again at that point to keep him as the highest-paid in the game.

Now 1-1 on the season after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road yesterday, Mahomes and the Chiefs return home to face the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
