Patrick Mahomes' Dad Has Four-Word Message Before AFC Championship
Yesterday at 05:20 PM
Pat Mahomes Sr. is ready for today's AFC Championship Game.
Mahomes has been a vocal supporter of his son Patrick throughout this NFL career. A former MLB pitcher who played 11 years in the big leagues, Mahomes went viral at the AFC Championship Game two years ago for his "smokin' a Joe Burrow" cigar celebration after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals.
We're expecting the elder Mahomes to be in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to watch his son and the Chiefs meet the Buffalo Bills. The win would send Kansas City to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six seasons.
Earlier this afternoon, Mahomes Sr. sent a quick message to Chiefs fans on X/Twitter.
"Feeling this energy today!! #ChiefsKingdom," Mahomes wrote, including a photo of himself celebrating with his son after the Chiefs' AFC title game win in Baltimore one year ago.

Mahomes Sr. spent much of last year dealing with legal trouble stemming form his DUI arrest one week before Super Bowl LVIII. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail in October.
"My son is getting ready to play in the [expletive] Super Bowl. I am not drunk, I promise you. I've had some drinks, but he can't have this right now. This can't happen," Mahomes said at the time of his arrest, via TMZ.
The 54-year-old former athlete also has to serve five years probation.
Since then, it seems like Pat Sr. has been staying lowkey. He's obviously pumped about his son being back in the AFC title game for the seventh year in a row and sixth time in seven years at home.
The Chiefs are aiming to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls and reach the big game again the following year. No team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row.
The AFC title game will start at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
