Taylor Swift Fans Upset With Mahomes Wife After Endorsement (1:05)

Patrick Mahomes has made his decision on the 2024 presidential election, though it's probably one that will anger both sides.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has received support from former United States president Donald Trump, after his wife, Brittany Mahomes, appeared to like a "MAGA" post on social media. Donald Trump shouted the Mahomes' out on social media and appears to be rooting for the Chiefs to reach Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans this season. But it doesn't sound like the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback will be returning the favor in the support department. Mahomes announced where he stands publicly after the first - and likely only - presidential debate on Tuesday evening.

Mahomes announced on Wednesday that he won't be endorsing either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.

"I don't want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever either way," he said. "I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research, and then make the best decision for them and their family."

He added that he's spent time around people with different beliefs than his own throughout his life.

"I've run up with people from every aspect of life and every background," he said. "I think the best thing about a football locker room and kind of how I've grown up in a baseball locker room, people can come together and achieve something and achieve a common goal."

Taylor Swift, meanwhile, officially endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on Wednesday.

"I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," she wrote in a post to her more than 280 million followers.

Travis Kelce, meanwhile, has yet to make an endorsement ahead of the presidential election. It'll be interesting to see if the Kansas City Chiefs tight end speaks out.
