Patrick Mahomes and His Wife, Brittany, Disagree Politically

Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, do not appear to be aligned politically.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, a winner of three Super Bowl championships, is taking the Michael Jordan route. Mahomes, 29, doesn't want to upset either side. So, the future Hall of Fame quarterback is choosing to stay down the middle and not try to influence anyone's vote heading into Election Day. Mahomes told TIME magazine of his decision.
"I don't want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president," Mahomes said, per Time magazine.
"I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research."
But while Patrick Mahomes is keeping his opinions close to the vest, the same cannot be said of his longtime wife and partner, Brittany Mahomes.
Brittany Mahomes, meanwhile, is choosing to be pretty outspoken. The Texas native, who has two children with Patrick and is currently expecting a third, has made her political opinions clear on social media. She has liked pro-Donald Trump and MAGA messaging this year.
The wife of the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback liked a message that said: "Keep men OUT of women's sports," "Carry out the largest deportation operation in American history," and "Cut federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory, Radical Gender Ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children."
Patrick and Brittany have been dating since high school, so perhaps the Chiefs quarterback is actually aligned with his wife on these issues. However, they clearly have a different way of voicing their opinions, with Patrick keeping mostly silent, while Brittany is speaking out.
Everyone is entitled to act as they please, but it's always a bit odd to see a prominent athlete stay relatively quiet on issues while their significant other is deciding to speak out. We've seen that happen with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly. There are few wives in the NFL, if any, that speak out more than Kelly Stafford.
Of course, whatever works for these couples is fine. We'll have to see how everyone handles Election Day.
