It was raining 3-pointers at Mohegan Sun Arena this Tuesday night, As UConn dismantled Iowa State in one of the most impressive performances we'll see all season.

UConn jumped out to an early 36-10 lead over Iowa State thanks to its sharpshooting from beyond the arc. After a slight letdown in the second quarter, the Huskies reasserted their dominance with a strong second half. During the late stages of the fourth quarter, Geno Auriemma's squad managed to break a program record because of its lethal 3-point shooting.

When the dust settled, UConn made 20-of-34 attempts from downtown. Ashlynn Shade led the team with seven 3-pointers, but it was Sarah Strong who actually led the team in scoring with 29 points.

Unsurprisingly, Paige Bueckers was highly efficient for UConn. She scored 27 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the 3-point line. The future WNBA star shot 66.6 percent overall from the field.

Kaitlyn Chen, Morgan Cheli, and Allie Ziebell chipped in to help UConn set a new program record for most 3-pointers made in a game. It could be a while before that record is broken again.

With the 101-68 win over Iowa State this evening, UConn has improved to 10-1 on the season. Next up is a showdown with USC.

UConn's matchup against USC will be televised on FOX. There'll be plenty of hype surrounding this game since it's a rematch from last season's Elite Eight. The Huskies won that meeting thanks to a monster performance from Bueckers. She had 28 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

If UConn wants to take down JuJu Watkins and USC once again, it'll need to keep up its hot shooting from downtown.
