Olivia Dunne Addresses Rumors About 'Awkward Moment' With Paul Skenes

On Monday night, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes was named the National League Rookie of the Year. His girlfriend, LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne, was obviously fired up about his latest achievement.
Dunne immediately started clapping the second Skenes was named Rookie of the Year. Skenes, however, didn't seem too thrilled. To make matters worse, it seems like she went in for a kiss while he was looking for a hug.
Although it looked bad from an optics standpoint, Dunne shared this video on her TikTok page. One user couldn't help but question her bond with Skenes, writing, "Looks like y'all had an argument before it was announced."
Instead of getting mad about that comment, Dunne politely cleared the air regarding her relationship with Skenes.
"He's just the king of nonchalant," Dunne replied.

Dunne and Skenes went public with their relationship in August of 2023. They've made plenty of public appearances over the past year, like attending the MLB All-Star Game and making guest picks on ESPN's "College GameDay."
While it's possible Dunne and Skenes had an argument before Monday's ceremony, the reality is it's none of our business.
All we can say for certain is that Skenes rightfully earned Rookie of the Year. The former LSU star had an 11-3 record this season with a 1.96 ERA and 0.95 WHIP.
Dunne and Skenes will have plenty of chances to practice how they celebrate each other's achievements. Both athletes are incredibly talented and successful in their respective fields.
In this one moment though, Dunne and Skenes learned just how quick the internet can be when it comes to jumping to conclusions.
