One NFL standout caused quite a stir with his tweet during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the women's individual floor event, American gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles came in second and third behind Brazil's Rebeca Andrade.

After the competition, a photo of Biles and Chiles bowing down to Andrade on the medal podium went viral on social media, with many applauding the sportsmanship.

However, Baltimore Ravens star Marlon Humphrey did not like what he saw, calling the display "literally disgusting." Despite the backlash for that opinion, Humphrey isn't backing down.

During a new episode of his "Punch Line" podcast, Humphrey explained his reasoning for the tweet and did not offer an apology.

"Dude, lemme tell you my perspective. I get on … Twitter, I was like, what the frick? Why are we bowing to anybody? This is freaking America, why are we bowing to another country? I didn't even know what country that was, honestly," Humphrey said, via the New York Post.

"I just seen two people bowing, I said, 'This is crazy,' just from a whole human perspective, ethical. Should never bow to no man except God. So I said, 'Golly this is wild.'"

Humphrey said he was unaware of the firestorm he created until people began asking him about the tweet and he saw his social media pages blowing up.

"I believe there's no such thing as bad media," Humphrey said, adding that it was "kinda fire" that Michelle Obama knew who he was and commented on the photo of Biles.

Humphrey is going into his eighth season with the Ravens. Meanwhile, Biles came home from Paris with four more Olympic medals, including three golds.
