The host of NFL RedZone is apologizing for his viral comment on Tom Brady during Sunday's Browns vs. Cowboys game.

The Cowboys topped the Browns, 33-17, in Week 1 on Sunday afternoon. Mike McCarthy's team dominated the contest, especially in the first half, when they led 20-3 at halftime. They could have led 23-3, if not for a delay of game penalty. Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey drilled a 66-yard field goal, but it was called off due to the penalty. The Cowboys then lined up for a 71-yard field goal, but ultimately decided to call off the attempt.

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson felt that Brady, who was calling the game for FOX, needed to show more excitement about the possible 71-yard field goal attempt.

"Oh come on, Brady's got to get more excited than that in the booth!" Hanson could be heard saying on NFL RedZone on Sunday afternoon.

Hanson has since apologized for his comment. The veteran NFL host says that it didn't come across as he intended it to be - a joke.

"This was unfair & inconsiderate by me. Yes, I was saying it tongue in cheek - but I didn't calculate how it may come across. @TomBrady , I apologize. I promise I am rooting you on in this new venture!" he wrote on social media.

Was Hanson over the line with his comment on Brady during Sunday's game?
