There's plenty of picky eaters in the world and we're not ones to criticize what someone puts in their belly. But one NFL player offered up an extremely unusually batch of meat to his teammates: Raccoon meat.

The raccoon-enjoyer was Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette, who in a locker room interview with Sheena Quick revealed that he brought some meat from the nocturnal mammal to his team's locker room this week.

After describing bell peppers and onions as too exotic for his taste, he pulled out a tub of raccoon meet, which some of the other reporters described as "weird" in appearance because it looked more like pulled pork than typical meat.

Legette wasn't hearing it though.

"It ain't gamey, it's just good!" he declared.

NFL fans were a little less enthusiastic about eating raccoon meat than he was.

"He's eating raccoon ? And it's un refrigerated??" one user wrote.

"Has raccoon ever been a mystery box ingredient on Food Network's Chopped?" another wondered.

"I will not be supporting him today," wrote a third.

Still others decided to make jokes about his performance on the field:

"Bro can catch a raccoon but not a pass. Bro can also cook a raccoon, but not cook a defender," one joked.

"Imagine how good he's gonna be once he starts eating a regular diet for a professional athlete," another remarked.

Legette apparently got served some raccoon meat over his Thanksgiving and instantly fell in love with the dish. He has started bringing to the team facilities to share the leftovers with his teammates.

Hopefully most of them passed because with the way it looks, it's likely to give them stomach aches rather than cravings for more.
