North Carolina announced the hiring of Bill Belichick last week, a move that sent shockwaves across the college football landscape.
Belichick had been talking to UNC for over a week and surprised a lot of people when he accepted the job. Pundits thought he'd just return to the NFL during the winter but they were wrong.
Lawrence Taylor, the best player in UNC history, thinks Belichick will have UNC in a spot to win it all with how good of a coach he is.
"All I can say is that Carolina has a chance to win it all again now," Taylor said. "They got a chance. I think it's all about recruiting and all that stuff."
"He (Belichick) has the knowledge. He knows the game of football. I'm telling you now, sometimes he had the personality conflicts and stuff like that but hey, if you talk about knowing the game of football, Bill Belichick is the man."
NFL legend @LT_56 believes his alma mater North Carolina now "has a chance to win it all" with his former Giants defensive coordinator Bill Belichick serving as its head coach.

Belichick agreed to a five-year deal with UNC to be the head coach of the football program last Wednesday before he was introduced to the media on Thursday.
He has a lot of work ahead of him since the transfer portal window is now open. Belichick has been trying to get players from other programs to commit to his program for next year and even beyond.
There are a lot of conversations and recruiting calls that go into it but based on his answers during his press conference and on the "Pat McAfee Show," he seems more than prepared.
Belichick took the 2024 season off after he and the New England Patriots parted ways at the end of the 2023 NFL regular season. He did a lot of media, including weekly appearances on the "Pat McAfee Show."
Belichick's first game as head coach will be on August 30 against the TCU Horned Frogs.
