NFL Fans React To Vikings' Decision On Aaron Rodgers

It was fun while it lasted, but it appears that former New York Jets and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't be completing the Brett Favre Cycle by joining the Minnesota Vikings.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have made it clear that they are moving forward with second-year man J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback. To that end, the team intends to add a veteran to back him up but will NOT be adding Aaron Rodgers to the QBs room.
"The #Vikings have rejected multiple trade calls on J.J. McCarthy, telling other teams they're moving forward with him as their quarterback, sources say. The team plans to add a veteran. But they're not pursuing Aaron Rodgers at this time. McCarthy now enters the offseason as QB1," Pelissero wrote.

NFL fans were mixed on the decision while Vikings fans largely seem to be thankful that the four-time NFL MVP won't be joining them:
"This is the right decision by the Vikings to finally make it official that J.J. McCarthy is their guy. They've done this before, but it needed to be reiterated," one user wrote.
"This is the right move. Vikings have a good roster and should see how their 1st round pick does," wrote another.
"Definitely the right move for the Vikings," a third remarked.
"The Vikings had a chance at Jim Harbaugh but instead took a risk on Kevin O'Connell—and it paid off. Now, they had an opportunity to grab Aaron Rodgers but are sticking with J.J. McCarthy. Once again, they're not just chasing big names—they're building something new," a fourth pointed out.
There are certainly a lot of parallels between where Rodgers is now and where is former teammate Brett Favre was in 2009: They both had massive ups and downs in their one season as a starter for the Jets and mulled retirement.
We're still in the wait-and-see approach with Rodgers but the time is running out for him to keep putting off announcing his decision before everyone else moves on.
Where will Rodgers play in 2025? Will he just retire if he doesn't get his perfect landing spot?
