Taysom Hill reportedly suffered a season-ending injury on Sunday.
The New Orleans Saints' versatile offensive playmaker got carted off the field during a Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Hill appeared to take a helmet to his knee, which bent awkwardly while he ran for a first down.
Unfortunately, the 34-year-old didn't avoid a significant injury. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Hill suffered a torn ACL with "additional damage."
Upon learning the bad news, fans felt awful for Hill while wondering about his NFL future.
"Least deserving person in the world of an injury," a Saints fan wrote on social media.
"We lost Taysom Football. A dark day for the NFL indeed," a fan declared.
"Hope he has a fast recovery," a fan said. "Sucks that this could potentially be his last season and it ends like this, but his impact was incredible."
"I really hope this isn't the last we've seen of 7 in black and gold," a Saints fan said.
Hill suffered four season-ending injuries at BYU before joining the Saints in 2017. The undrafted free agent has since provided New Orleans with a unique Swiss Army knife who's played quarterback, tight end, and wide receiver.
Hill has tallied 464 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns in eight games this season. The 6-foot-2, 221-pounder missed time with a chest injury earlier in the season and has played through cracked ribs.
Putting his full skillset on display, Hill registered 138 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, a 42-yard kick return, and an 18-yard passing completion in a Week 11 win over the Cleveland Browns.
"A lot of the guys are disappointed," Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said after Hill's injury, per ESPN's Katherine Terrell. "He's obviously a very respected and well-liked guy in our locker room."
