Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning may have leaked which quarterback the team is interested in for the 2024 NFL Draft.

During a recent media appearance on 104.3 The Fan, the Hall of Famer said the Broncos are "very interested" in Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. He went on to suggest that McCarty would want to go to Denver to play for the Broncos as well.

It didn't take long for fans to flock to social media to discuss the latest news. Some are dubious of the team's chances to pull off a trade up in the draft.

"that is all true but we won't be able to draft him and with our current roster do not have the capital to trade up to get him," one fan said.

"If J.J. is their guy, I truly hope the #Broncos are able to get him," offered another.

At least one Chiefs fan thinks the Broncos would be making a major mistake drafting McCarthy.

"I am absolutely begging the Broncos to trade up (without a 2nd round pick this year) into the top 6 picks to take McCarthy. To put him in camp with Zach Wilson, Cortland Sutton and Josh Reynolds. And instantly rely on him to be the savior. Bad teams stay bad," the fan said.

Earlier this offseason, Broncos head coach Sean Payton revealed the team brought McCarthy in for a private workout.

"I wasn't at J.J.'s pro day, but we had a private (workout with him) the next day where we sent him a bunch of information, spent four or five hours with him, just made him throw all over again," Payton said, via 9NEWS. "I think it's all part of the process. I think it can lead to a more efficient and effective decision."

McCarthy is expected to be a top 10 pick on Thursday night.
