Meet The Star Of The Philadelphia Eagles Cheer Squad (1:33)

The Philadelphia Eagles' signature short yardage play is the "Brotherly Shove," more commonly known as the "Tush Push" for how it functions. The play has wreaked havoc on the Eagles' opponents through the years and NFL fans are finally ready to see it gone for good.

In today's NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders, the Eagles attempted the play on several consecutive goal-line plays, forcing Washington to jump offsides numerous times in order to try and prevent the seemingly unstoppable play. What ensued was one of the silliest four-play sequences in NFL history as the Commanders committed a whopping three offsides penalties and had to be warned that a fourth would result in a touchdown awarded to Philadelphia.

As the Eagles kept running the play though, fans took to social media and made it clear that they don't want to see the play anymore. Many are calling it the worst play in the NFL and believe that the league needs to stop the unstoppable play as soon as possible before it ruins football.

"The tush push should 100% be banned. So stupid. Don't let players push the Qb or whoever takes the snap. It's the worst play in football," Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy posted on X.

"Ban the Tush Push. It's an illegal formation by the O line compared to where they typically align," former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert remarked.

"The tush push is going to be banned at some point and that entire sequence is proof why. The defense can't do a single thing against it. It makes it a living hell for the refs to enforce all these penalties. Better to just eliminate the play entirely," a third pointed out.

"Roger Goodell's takeaway from watching 5 STRAIGHT tush pushes better be to ban the play for next season. Nobody wants to watch Jalen Hurts get pushed by two dudes EVERY time the Eagles are at the one-yard line," another user wrote.

"I'm done with the Tush Push. It's not only unstoppable, it's obnoxious. Like baseball banning the shift, the NFL should get rid of it," wrote a fifth.

The Eagles have now run the play into two Super Bowls and several playoff appearances. But Super Bowl 59 could be the final time we see it if the fans have their way.
