The AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills isn't over yet, but fans are already bothered by some big calls by the referees in the second half.
The Chiefs are leading the Bills, 32-29, with less than four minutes to play on Sunday night. Kansas City, playing in its seventh straight AFC Championship Game, is looking to make the Super Bowl for the third year in a row, going for a three-peat.
Andy Reid's team benefited in the second half from a very questionable call by the officials. The Bills appeared to get a first down on a fourth down run by Josh Allen, though the refs marked the ball short.
Should it have been?
The ball was ultimately marked short by the refs and the Chiefs took over. Kansas City proceeded to get the ball back and the Chiefs marched all the way down the field, scoring a touchdown to take the lead.
Some NFL fans are saying they will be "boycotting" the league after the controversial call.
"I'm quitting watching football. There is no other way to teach Roger Goodell a lesson. This is blatant cheating," Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday night.
NFL fans weighed in.
"I say if Chiefs win tonight we boycott of the SB and only then will the NFL learn. They charge advertising based on eyeballs. If they want to charge exorbitantly for the advertising they will have to give all the money back if viewership is down Only you can get this going," one fan wrote.
"I've seen replay assist move the ball for KC first downs twice tonight. Why not this play?" one fan added.
"Feels like watching the Brady Patriots all over again," one fan added.
"There's no game the Chiefs can't lose with the refs watching their six. Unbelievable," one fan added.
"People might think this is a joke but the NFL is risking losing their base.. People are losing a lot of money betting these games.. It can't be this obvious.." one fan added.
