NFL Fan Base Ripped For Its Behavior During Week 18 Game

Week 18 of the NFL season concluded with a high-stakes rivalry game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions won 31-9 in front of a raucous home crowd at Ford Field. With the victory, Detroit earned the NFC North title and No. 1 seed in the NFC, along with a first-round bye. Meanwhile, the Vikings dropped to the fifth seed, which means they'll be on the road against the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round this weekend. While the loss was bad enough, multiple Vikings players saw their significant others come forward with allegations of poor treatment from Lions ans.
Linebacker Blake Cashman's girlfriend said in a TikTok video that Detroit supporters were "wishing injuries on the opposing teams players," and offensive lineman Dalton Risner's wife claimed she was "heckled, touched and called names" by Lions fans.
The women have sparked reaction from fans on both sides of the aisle on social media with their allegations.
"No one is surprised," one Vikings fan said.
"Can't say I'm too surprised because… well… reasons," another person added.
"Nice fan base!" said another Vikings fan sarcastically.
"everytime the vikings/packers/bears have lost the past 2 years, their fans immediately go to trashing the fans and city. its like clockwork," a Lions fan countered.
"Never seen a more insecure fanbase. You fluked 14 wins wins, be happy and move on," another Lions fan chimed in.
"There is no 'alleged' lol. Lions fans screamed at Vikings fans, told us we sucked while in the stadium. Then walking outside would drive by and slow down screaming that they hoped we did. Been to multiple stadiums and never been treated like this by opposing fan bases," added another Minnesota fan.
If these incidents did happen, they are inexcusable. There's no reason to harass opposing fans at a game simply because they are rooting for the visiting team.
On the other hand though, this is not a Lions-centric problem. Stadiums around the NFL are littered with people who look to start confrontations over their fanhood.
It's a sad reality, but it's true nonetheless.
