The National Football League is taking heat on social media for its "dirty" move with the College Football Playoff.

The first round of the 2024-25 College Football Playoff is set to take place this upcoming weekend. We'll have one game on Friday night, with Notre Dame taking on Indiana, and then three games on Saturday. Penn State will take on SMU, Texas will host Clemson and Ohio State will face Tennessee.

But the NFL is having games on Saturday, too.

The NFL, which is trying to own every day of the week at this point - the league will have games on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this year - is taking heat for clouding the College Football Playoff.

On Saturday, the NFL will have two games going up against the College Football Playoff:

  • Chiefs vs. Texans at 1 p.m. E.T.
  • Ravens vs. Steelers at 4:30 p.m. E.T.

College football fans are fed up.

"Man, (expletive) the NFL for trampling on the 1st 12-team College Football Playoff..." one fan wrote.

"No reason for the nfl to play on Saturdays. Just another reason not to watch them. College games are more fun," one fan added.

College football fans pointed out that there could have been NFL games this Saturday, instead. The college football world had just one game, with Army taking on Navy.

"And yet 0 games this Saturday with nothing going on," one fan added.

Others, meanwhile, are getting ready to have multiple TVs set up for the day.

"Oh multiple screen Saturday it is," one fan added.

Should the NFL be playing games at the same time of the College Football Playoff? The college football world famously pushes Jan. 1 bowl games to later dates when it falls on a Sunday. The National Football League, clearly, is much less considerate.
