The 10 Craziest Things To Happen In Sports In 2024 (1:37)

Juan Soto was officially introduced as the newest member of the New York Mets on Thursday. Unsurprisingly, some New York Yankees fans couldn't handle seeing him in a different uniform.

Immediately following Soto's introductory press conference, WFAN Radio personality Shaun Morash posted a photo of the All-Star slugger on X. His caption was incredibly unprofessional. He basically applauded the Yankees for losing the sweepstakes because he's concerned about Soto's weight. Unfortunately, we're not kidding.

"I've changed my stance, I now understand why the Yankees didn't want to let Juan Soto's personal chef past security," Morash wrote.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that Morash is mocking Soto's weight. Fans of the Mets weren't going to let that fly, especially since Morash is known for letting awful takes like this fly.

"Didn't want him so bad that they offered him $760 million. That's a new one," a fan said.

Another person replied, "How does it feel to be a big part of the reason this station's ratings are dropping faster than water leaving a bathtub?"

"That's just the extra 5mill the yanks didn't wanna give him strapped to his belly," a third fan wrote.

The Mets aren't worried about Soto at all, nor should they be. He's an incredible hitter who's just entering the prime of his career. If they didn't feel great about him, they wouldn't have offered him a 15-year, $765 million contract.

While the money was certainly a factor, Soto claims the Mets offer him the best chance to have success.

"At the end of the day, we looked at everything," Soto said. "We looked at the chances, and we looked at what the other teams wanted to do and what everyone wants to do for the next 15 years. And I think we have the best chance over here."

On paper, the Mets should be a playoff team next season. Obviously, fans in Queens want more than a few postseason appearances.

In order for Soto to live up to the hype, he'll need to lead the Mets to a World Series title. If that happens at any point during his 15-year run in the Big Apple, Shaun Morash may just lose his mind.
