Netflix Bringing Back Beloved 'Quarterback' Series This Summer

Netflix's Quarterback series will return to its original roots.
Two years ago, the documentary series premiered to instant popularity. Created by Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions, Quarterback followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota throughout the 2022 NFL season.
Last year, the series shifted its focus to pass-catchers. Receiver chronicled Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Davante Adams, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle.
On Wednesday morning, Netflix announced a new season airing in July. Although shared two weeks before April Fools' Day, the teaser attempted to dupe viewers.
The one-minute video starts by promoting a season dedicated to mascots. However, intense music abruptly stopped before cutting to a confused Joe Burrow.
"Seriously?" Burrow asked. "Mascots?"

Cousins then asked if Netflix was really doing a season about mascots, and Jared Goff noted that they "don't even talk."
Burrow called the idea "ridiculous" before Cousins suggested another season of Quarterback. His peers accepted the invitation.
"I'm in if you're in," Burrow said.
"I'm in," Goff responded.
Fans enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at Cousins, who led the Minnesota Vikings to 13 wins during the 2022 season with 4,547 passing yards and 29 touchdowns. However, his Netflix return won't showcase the same on-field success.
In his first season with the Atlanta Falcons, Cousins got benched for Michael Penix Jr. after throwing a career-high 16 interceptions in 14 games. Penix may want to think carefully about accepting any future invitation to appear on Quarterback, as Cousins follows Mariota as the second Falcons signal-caller to lose his starting job while participating in the series.
Burrow led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns last season, but the 9-8 Cincinnati Bengals missed the playoffs despite winning their final five games. Fans will follow the Pro Bowler during a roller-coaster campaign, and maybe they'll learn more about his frosted tips and Batmobile.
Meanwhile, Goff led the Detroit Lions to a 15-2 season with 4,629 passing yards and a career-high 37 touchdowns. While Netflix followed Mahomes to the Super Bowl in the first season, the Washington Commanders upset Detroit in the second round.
Fans will eagerly await an official release date for the new season of Quarterback.
