Nebraska Fans Are Panicking After Falling To 5-5 Following 5-1 Start

Four weeks ago Nebraska were 5-1 on the season, having just beaten a previously undefeated Rutgers team and their lone blemish being a close loss to Illinois. But college football is an unforgiving sport and Nebraska have gone from Big Ten contenders to a familiar, undesirable spot.
Nebraska just lost to USC on the road 28-20, in a game where they led for less than 10 minutes. It was their third straight one-score loss and second straight against a team that had a losing record at the time. Now the Cornhuskers are 5-5 on the season and just about everyone is worried that they're going to collapse the way they did last year and fail to even secure bowl eligibility in their remaining games against Wisconsin and Iowa.

"It's just not meant to be. Nebraska never making a bowl game," one user lamented.
"I'm so disappointed we have had so many losses by just a few points. Why can't we get this done?" another wondered.
"This program will never make another bowl game again. Quote me, bookmark me put your life savings on it. Never again," a third declared.
The game itself was marred by poor officiating, but some of the playcalling from head coach Matt Rhule didn't help either. While there was a controversial play where people expected a pass interference call to benefit the Huskers, Rhule also made some questionable fourth down punt decisions.
The most frustrating part for Nebraska is that each of the last three games were golden opportunities to get that coveted sixth win of the season. They held Ohio State to just 21 points in a 21-17 loss, lost to UCLA at home by a touchdown, and have now lost a winnable game to a struggling USC Trojans team.
Wisconsin and Iowa are not going to be any easier to get wins from, as both of them have superb defenses while Nebraska's offense is significantly lacking in firepower.
Can Nebraska overcome their current slump and get that crucial sixth win? Or will they be left without a bowl game for the eighth year in a row?
