Nasty weather is heading for Dallas ahead of Friday night's College Football Playoff semifinal game between No. 5 Texas and No. 8 Ohio State.

The Longhorns and the Buckeyes are scheduled to meet at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday evening. Texas is coming off a win over Arizona State in the Peach Bowl, while Ohio State is coming off a thumping of Oregon in the Rose Bowl. The two teams will be meeting in Dallas to play for a spot in the College Football Playoff national title game.

AT&T Stadium is a dome, but those traveling to Texas for the game should take note: nasty weather is coming later this week.

There are weather alerts in Dallas for Thursday and Friday. Snow could begin as early as Wednesday night and temperatures are expected to drop. Texas is not a state that typically handles snow and cold weather well.

Travel is expected to be impacted through Friday.

"Thursday and Friday are WFAA Weather Alert Days for the potential of accumulating snow. Flurries start as early as Wed night with snow accumulations beginning Thursday. It'll dry out from west to east Friday morning, but travel impacts will likely last through Friday," Pete Delkus announced.

Back in 2022, a major snowstorm blanketed the Dallas area, causing millions of people to be without power. Hopefully, things are not as serious this time around.

College football fans are already bracing for travel delays.

"I'm sorry Texas is playing Friday. We all know how DFW handles big events in Arlington and weather events. Imma need this forecast to relax," one fan wrote.

"Ohio State fans should be used to this weather," one fan added.

"Hoping the Longhorns are more sorry of the outcome than the weather! GO BUCKS!!" one fan added.

"Is it possible that we can actually just get beautiful snow and not some hazardous icy mix?" another fan asked.

Kickoff between No. 5 Texas and No. 8 Ohio State is currently scheduled for 7:30 p.m. E.T. on Friday night.

Hopefully, the storm won't impact anything surrounding the game.
