NASCAR fans aren't thrilled with Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s admission on his future in the sport.
While Dale Jr. has long retired from full-time racing in the Cup Series, the legendary driver still gets out and races in the Xfinity Series from time to time. He's set to race in the Xfinity Series later this month. But apparently, this could be his final race.
Dale Jr. admitted that he thinks most NASCAR fans don't really care about him getting back out onto the track.
"Probably… but I'll keep running my late model for a little while," Dale Jr. admitted.

NASCAR fans are saddened by the admission.
"Well I'm gonna be crying after bristol," one fan wrote.
"I might be there for Dale Jrs final career start. What an honor," one fan added.
"The worst part is this means no more awesome Dale Jr Xfinity all over print shirts 🥲," one fan added.
"For those who love Dale Earnhardt Jr…I wouldn't want to miss what could be his last NASCAR Xfinity Series start. Bristol is September 20th on The CW," one fan added.
Outkick's Zach Dean is especially upset:
"Hey, NASCAR fans … this is unacceptable. If I read this correctly, Dale basically just told you he's hanging it up because nobody gives a s--- about him racing anymore," he wrote.
"Nope. Not on my watch. Dale Earnhardt Jr. races a week from Friday, at Bristol, in the No. 88 Chevy. Get your a---- to a TV and watch it. Watch every single second of it. Don't let Junior go out like a loser. We're better than this."
Hopefully, this isn't actually the end of the line for Dale Earnhardt Jr. But if it is, hopefully he can go out with a thrilling race.
Dale Jr. is set to race at Bristol on Sept. 20.
