Actor and NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz has been feeling under the weather lately, and he recently shed some light on what he's been dealing with.

Muniz said on Thursday that he is suffering from a parasite that has affected him "physically and mentally."

"This parasite will not leave me alone," Muniz said on social media Thursday.

"Day 22 of feeling absolutely awful. 2 emergency room visits, two doctors appointments, countless IVs. Third prescription almost completed. Wrecked physically and mentally. So badly want to get back to training etc."

Muniz says his symptoms began after a trip to Mexico, and that he has no plans to head back any time soon.

Muniz has committed himself to racing in the last few years, rising through the ranks in NASCAR's various national touring series. After a fourth-place finish in the ARCA Menards Series, Muniz is now part-time in Menards, Trucks and Xfinity.

He finished 31st in his first career Truck Series race earlier this season in Nashville.

"I had a blast, honestly," Muniz said after making his Truck Series debut.

"Maybe on paper it doesn't look like the result we wanted to have, but I wanted to just run as many laps as possible, get comfortable in the truck. I was racing with people, I was kind of in some battles, and that's what I needed to do."

Hopefully, Muniz is able to get rid of the parasite that's been bothering him and he's able to make a full recovery and return to the race track.

He's had a successful racing career so far, and it looks like he's on his way to accomplishing even more in such a difficult and demanding sport.
