One month removed from his widely-viewed return to the ring vs. Jake Paul on Netflix, Mike Tyson is reportedly the target of a $1.5 million lawsuit.
According to court documents filed in London, the boxing legend and his company, Tyrannic, are being sued for more than $1.5 million by Medier (which promotes the betting company Rabona Sportsbook) for "unjustly" terminating an agreed upon promotional deal earlier this year.
Tyson's lawyers argue that Medier is the party that breached the contract after failing to obtain Mike's approval of promotional materials.
"The true reason for Mr. Tyson and Tyrannic's hasty and unlawful termination was because Mr. Tyson had agreed [to] a deal, sponsored by Netflix, to fight the influencer Jake Paul," the lawsuit reads.
Over 100 million viewers tuned in to watch the sanctioned event, which reportedly netted Tyson $20 million for the eight-round bout.
Per the lawsuit, Medier is seeking more than $800,000 in fees paid to Tyson "for which no services were provided" along with an additional $729,000 in "wasted production and promotion costs."
Tyson's son, Amir, recently admitted that his step-mom said this past fight would be Iron Mike's last. But said he was "proud" of what his dad accomplished in the ring November 15.
"I was very proud," Amir said. "... I knew he wasn't going to get knocked down or out because he can take those punches. But, at the same, Jake is younger, faster and bigger — when you get older your cardio diminishes."
"But he did it better than any 58-year-old," Tyson added. "He went the distance and I am proud as hell of what he did. It was like a Rocky XI moment. Most athletes finish and retire into the sunset, but for him to remain this relevant, for so many generations, it shows you everything. I am very proud."
