Micah Parsons' Status For Eagles Game Is Leaning One Way
Yesterday at 03:30 PM
The Dallas Cowboys are looking for a season-saving win this week against the Philadelphia Eagles, and they're dealing with a laundry list of injuries.
Quarterback Dak Prescott is expected to be out for an extended period of time after what is believed to be a torn hamstring, defensive backs Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland are both dealing with injuries, and there are also injuries on the offensive line.
The Cowboys' biggest injury issue at the moment is one that has persisted for several weeks, as star pass rusher Micah Parsons has missed significant time with a high ankle sprain.
Good news finally appears to be on the horizon for Dallas, as Parsons appears to be on the right track for a return.
According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Parsons is "trending in the right direction" to play on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Archer says Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wants to see Parsons go through a full practice on Saturday before he makes a definitive decision to play him the next day.
The Cowboys have been without Parsons for the last four games, going 1-3 with three straight losses in that span. A win in Sunday's game won't put a 3-5 Dallas team back at .500, but it would help save their season as Parsons and others eventually return.
The Cowboys have a difficult schedule through the next few weeks of the season, with games against the Eagles, Texans, Commanders and Buccaneers.
They'll have four of their six divisional games over the next part of the season, as well as the traditional Thanksgiving day game on a shorter week.
The Cowboys can get back into the hunt for a playoff spot this season, but they face an uphill battle. Prescott's timeline for a return is still unclear, leaving a massive question mark at the most important position on the field.
It seems that Parsons will be back this week, giving Dallas a much needed boost ahead of a pivotal game against their NFC East rivals.
We'll see what kind of impact he can make when the Cowboys host the Eagles on Sunday at 4:25 PM ET.
