Mel Kiper Jr. Releases His NFL Draft Prediction For Shedeur Sanders

Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest mock draft on Tuesday, including a prediction for Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders is still regarded as the No. 2 quarterback in this year's class behind Cam Ward. However, coming out of the scouting combine last month, there was talk he might be slipping down draft boards. One report quoted an unnamed quarterbacks coach claiming Sanders came off as "brash" and "arrogant" and longtime draft analyst Todd McShay sharing that he heard Sanders rubbed some teams the wrong way in interviews.
Nevertheless, Kiper still believes Sanders won't have to wait long to hear his name called. He has the Colorado star coming off the board at No. 3 overall to the New York Giants in his newest mock.
"It's a great fit," Kiper said of Sanders to the Giants. "I think the pressure, the expectations, the big stage, the bright lights. He's dealt with all of that. That's Shedeur Sanders. That's who he is. That's what he's all about."

The Giants absolutely need to draft a quarterback at some point next month. Right now, Tommy DeVito is the only signal caller on New York's roster as they pursue numerous veteran options.
Aaron Rodgers is the Giants' top choice, but he's also being pursued by the Pittsburgh Steelers and is reportedly waiting to see if the Minnesota Vikings are interested. The Giants hosted Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco on visits last week and have Jameis Winston in town today.
While all of those aforementioned quarterbacks would bring plenty of experience and varying levels of effectiveness to New York, none are long-term options.
That's why Kiper thinks Sanders would make sense for the Giants, though it's possible he doesn't make it to No. 3.
The Cleveland Browns also need more QB help and could opt for Sanders if they believe he has the makings of a franchise passer.
There's still much to be decided with a little over five weeks to go before the 2025 NFL Draft.
