Meet The Fiancee of Travis Hunter (1:23)

The 2024-25 NFL season isn't over yet, as we still have three games on the schedule - the two conference title games and then the Super Bowl. But it's already time to start looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft.

Who will be going No. 1 overall this spring?

There are a couple of big-time candidates, from Miami quarterback Cam Ward to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders to Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. But only one can go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said on Wednesday that the team will not be passing on a "generational talent" at the top of the draft.

"There is some talent on this roster, but we're a three-win football team right now, so that's not good enough," Borgonzi said. "So, we're going to have to look everywhere to improve it."

When NFL fans heard "generational talent," they assumed that the Titans would be going with Hunter, one of the best college football players in recent history. But Kiper Jr. has the Titans going in a different direction.

Kiper Jr., who has been covering the NFL Draft for more than 30 years, has the Titans going with a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick this spring.

1. Tennessee Titans

Cam Ward, QB, Miami

I was a fan of Will Levis when the Titans took him early on Day 2 in 2023, and there's still a chance he'll put it all together. But he hasn't played nearly well enough to keep the job in Tennessee. The Titans had the NFL's second-worst QBR (37.3) and interception total (21) this season as they bounced between Levis and Mason Rudolph.

Kiper Jr. says that Ward has the "buzz" around the league at No. 1 overall right now.

"Ward has the early top-pick buzz around the league, though, so that's where I'm leaning for now. He extends plays with his creativity, mobility and strong arm. Ward led the nation with 39 touchdown passes this season, and he'd help put the Titans back on track," he says.

Tennessee knows it needs to figure out the QB position, too.

"The quarterback is the most important position, arguably in sports," Borgonzi said. "So you have to solidify the quarterback position. We're going to be relentless attacking this until we find the answer."
