A major tornado reportedly struck the United States during the middle of the night on Saturday. 

Oklahoma was reportedly hit by a tornado during the middle of the night on Saturday. The midwestern state, which is home to several tornados per year, was reportedly hit by several tornados over the course of Saturday evening and into Sunday morning. Damage is reportedly pretty significant. 

"Severe storms and reported tornadoes swept across Oklahoma early Sunday, causing injuries and widespread power outages, according to authorities.A destructive path of severe weather included damage in the Oklahoma City area, where at least six people were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Oklahoma City Police Department Capt. Valerie Littlejohn said," CBS News reported on Sunday morning.

Jordan Hall, a meteorologist, shared a photo of the extensive damage suffered.

"Extensive damage here off of Sooner Rd and 89th St," he wrote on Sunday morning.

The community is dealing with some major blows.

"Most likely well built houses (being in the Oklahoma metro) with some exterior wall failures away from the garages. Significant damage," one fan wrote.

"More damage from a large tornado last night in the immediate OKC metro," one fan added.

"Just terrible… in the DEAD of night too… absolutely worst time for it to happen. 2-3am is just terrible for those poor people," one fan added.
