A longtime NBC Sports announcer is recovering after being hit by a car while riding his bike on Friday.

Paul Tracy, a former NBC Sports IndyCar announcer, was hit by a car while out riding his bike on Friday. He was hit by an SUV and suffered some pretty serious injuries.

Tracy, who worked at NBC Sports from 2014 to 2021, had to be taken to a local trauma center.

Getting transferred to trauma center," Tracy wrote. "Looks like 3 broken vertebrae lower back. This is going to f*** up my fitness."

Tracy had recently left NBC but got into a different world of broadcasting. He had been working with the Camping World SRX Series founded by Tony Stewart. Tracy had also done some work for the GT World Challenge.

He's in a good headspace following the injury, at least.

"There are two options in life," said Tracy. "Lay around and do nothing, or keep it f****** moving. Let's go! Nobody is going to hold me back."

Hey, good for Tracy for having a good mindset about his recovery. We wish him the best as he recovers from his serious car accident-induced injuries.
