LeSean McCoy disagreed with the Jacksonville Jaguars' decision to fire Doug Pederson.

Jacksonville dismissed Pederson after finishing his third season with a 4-13 record. The Jaguars went 9-8 in each of the previous two years, but they lost five of their final six games in 2023.

On The Facility, McCoy took umbrage to Pederson losing his job. The former Philadelphia Eagles running back believes Trevor Lawrence is to blame for Jacksonville's downfall.

"The league is confused right now," McCoy said (h/t Awful Announcing). "All you want to do is get a quarterback because he plays the position. He's up for his contract, and wherever he's drafted high at, 'We gotta keep him.' And now, the result of that is, look at Doug Pederson getting fired."

McCoy praised Pederson as "a really, really good coach" who learned from his former Eagles head coach, Andy Reid, as a Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator. He cited Pederson winning Philadelphia's first Super Bowl with Nick Foles under center.

The Jaguars hired Pederson to help develop Lawrence after a disastrous debut behind Urban Meyer. McCoy believes the Jaguars are intent on fixing their former No. 1 pick at any cost.

"You bring him in there, he helps Trevor Lawrence out, but how much can you help a guy that's not that good?" McCoy asked. "And then you pay these quarterbacks, give them all this money, and when they don't do well because they're not that good of a player, now you gotta blame somebody. Who do you blame? Let's blame the head coach. But you're going to blame a winning head coach that's been winning his whole life. It don't make sense."

McCoy believes the same thing happened with the Miami Dolphins because of a "regular" Tua Tagovailoa. He's seemingly referencing Brian Flores losing his job, but that's probably not the best example considering Tagovailoa flourished under Mike McDaniel.

The former Pro Bowler called it "sad" the Jaguars made Pederson a scapegoat because he couldn't win with a "bad and overrated" Lawrence. McCoy doesn't think any coach short of Andy Reid will make a difference in Jacksonville.

"It don't matter what coach you bring in for Trevor Lawrence ... They can't save Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars," McCoy said. "He's not a good player."
