Legendary NFL Star Furious With Christmas Day Games

A legendary NFL star is not happy that the league is forcing some teams to play on Christmas Day.
There will be two games on Christmas Day today. The Steelers are hosting the Ravens at 1 p.m. E.T. and then the Ravens are playing the Texans in Houston at 4:30 p.m. E.T. Both games will be streaming on Netflix. The NFL wants to own every day of the week, it seems, even if Christmas falls on a Wednesday.
Not everyone is happy about it, though. While it'll be nice to have some NFL games to watch on Christmas Day, the players and coaches involved are having a pretty rough schedule. The Chiefs, for example, are playing three games in 11 days. It's a brutally tough game and it's made even tougher when you don't get a ton of rest in between contests.
One legendary NFL star ripped the league for its "unfair" scheduling ahead of kickoff on Wednesday.
Legendary Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger sounded off on the NFL for being greedy.
"It's miserable. It's a shame that the league does this. It just shows that it's all about money and this is a way that they can, you know, make more money and figure this thing out because it's not fair for the players," he said.
"You wanna talk about injuries and making the game safer, changing the kickoff rule and preventing guys on hip-drop tackles, and concussions, and this that and the other, and you're going to make guys play the most violent game in the world, arguably, three games in 11 days. I mean, there's no time for your body to get healthy and rest."
NFL fans are in agreement with Big Ben, who won two Super Bowls while playing for the Steelers.
"It's just greed. And seriously. On Netflix exclusively? That proves that it's just greed," one fan wrote.
"Roger Goodell played one semester of football at W&J as a freshman, so it isn't like he'd ever understand how much stress that is on a player," one fan joked.
"And at the end of the year, when everyone is already beaten up. Did the union agree to this?" one fan added.
Hopefully, no one gets hurt on Wednesday.
The two games are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. E.T. and 4:30 p.m. E.T.
Will you be tuning into the Christmas Day games on Netflix?
