Kyler Murray Had Telling Response When Asked About Connection With Marvin Harrison Jr.

Kyler Murray knows he and Marvin Harrison Jr. have room for improvement after an erratic 2024 season.
Harrison joined the Arizona Cardinals with immense hype, and the No. 4 pick has shown his star ceiling as a rookie. Yet he and Murray haven't consistently flourished the way some onlookers may have anticipated. The former Ohio State star has caught 51 of 100 targets for 726 yards and seven touchdowns without topping 60 yards in a game since Week 8.
Arizona got eliminated from playoff contention following Sunday's 36-30 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers. However, Murray remains focused on growing his on-field chemistry with Harrison to close the season.
"We've got to get better," Murray said, via Bo Brack of PHNX Cardinals. "It's not where he wants it to be. It's not where I want it to be. It's not where the team needs it to be. Again, I haven't lost any confidence. I'm excited for these next two weeks."
Murray said the duo has "got no choice" but to improve.
"We gotta get to where we need it to be," he continued. "He is who he is, but we've gotta get it going in order for our offense to be what we want it to be."
Harrison trails tight end Trey McBride for the team leads in targets, catches, and receiving yards. He's settled for 120 combined yards and no touchdowns in the last three games, but the 22-year-old isn't fretting over his target share.
"At the end of the day, it comes down to executing, making plays, and doing what is best for the team to win the game," Harrison said, per team reporter Darren Urban. "It's not about one person needs this many yards, or we need to throw the ball this many times or run the ball this many times. The end goal is to win."
The Cardinals will miss the playoffs for the eighth time in the last nine seasons after losing three of their last four games. Murray nevertheless wants to finish strong when they close the season against the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
"I love this game. I take pride in every snap I play, so there won't be any foot off the gas," Murray said. "...I personally have a reason to play, and I know the guys will feel the same way."
