Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has not interviewed for a single head-coaching job this month, but that could change as early as next week.

Kingsbury has really revived his stock with the Commanders, leading an offense that ranked fifth in scoring and seventh in yards during the regular season. His unit has elevated its game in the playoffs, that's for sure. Last weekend, Jayden Daniels had 299 passing yards, 51 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 45-31 win over the Detroit Lions.

Although nothing is imminent yet, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reported that Kingsbury could potentially interview with the New Orleans Saints. They're the only team in the NFL that has a head coach opening right now.

If Kingsbury has interest in the Saints, he'll have to fend off a plethoras of candidates, including Joe Brady, Kellen Moore and Mike McCarthy.

What's interesting about this possibility is that ESPN's Adam Schefter recently said Kingsbury is in no rush to leave the Commanders.

"I think Kliff Kingsbury is very happy in Washington," Schefter said. "He has an incredible quarterback, a transcendent quarterback. Between making money in Arizona and having the head coaching experience he did, he's not rushing to become a head coach again.

"Would he like to be [a head coach again] one day? I'm sure, but it's not something he has to rush to go do. If the right opportunity comes along at the right time, I'm sure he'd be open to that. But he's not going to force that, and right now he's more focused on the NFC Championship Game."

Kingsbury coached the Arizona Cardinals from 2019-2022. He finished his tenure with a 28-37-1 record and one playoff appearance.

Of course, we can't forget that Kingsbury was also Texas Tech's head coach for several years. During his six-year run in Lubbock, he went 35-40 despite having talented quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield.

If Kingsbury ends up becoming the head coach of the Saints, he'll have his work cut out for him. That roster isn't exactly built to win anytime soon.
