Meet The Wife Of Kirk Herbstreit (1:13)

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has put himself in a tough spot yet again. This time around though, he's not beefing with Indiana's fan base.

After Michigan upset Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl, Herbstreit went on the platform formerly known as Twitter to congratulate the Wolverines. A social media user by the name of "PokeNation" replied to his post with this message: "You wanted Alabama in the playoff." Instead of ignoring that comment, Herbstreit decided to fire back.

"Keep believing the false narratives clown," Herbstreit said.

Most football fans disliked the "clown" comment from Herbstreit. They thought it was unprofessional from the most popular college football analyst in the business.

Later in the day, "Poke Nation" revealed that Herbstreit actually blocked him on X. That made the online discourse even worse.

For now, it appears everyone's against Herbstreit in this debate.

"Herbstreit is flustered," one person wrote.

Another person said, "Kirk you really dying on this hill?"

"Kirk burning bridges with the Big 12 now," a fan replied.

"Herbstreit is the biggest clown," another fan commented.

Herbstreit has been getting blasted online ever since he questioned Indiana's spot in the College Football Playoff. He thinks the selection committee should value strength of schedule over wins.

"I hope next year the committee won't get caught up and what the social media and a lot of people who are fringe fans get caught up in, which is wins. 'They had 11 wins. They must be good.' Who did they beat I think is much more important than how many wins you have," Herbstreit said. "That's old school way of approaching it. Indiana having 11 wins and beating nobody. That doesn't mean they're one of the 12 best teams. There is a big difference between deserving and best."

SEC schools like Alabama, South Carolina and Texas A&M haven't really helped out Herbstreit's argument this bowl season.

We'l see if Herbstreit addresses his recent comments during the Rose Bowl on Wednesday.
