Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons won a thrilling game over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night.

Cousins was excellent in the victory, throwing for a franchise-record 509 yards and four touchdowns in the overtime win.

Cousins' final pass on Thursday was his most important throw of the day, a 45-yard touchdown to KhaDarel Hodge for a walkoff win.

It was a statement game from Cousins, who showed that last season's Achilles injury wouldn't slow him down, even at 36 years old.

The veteran quarterback also put on a show in primetime, where he's struggled heavily during his career.

Cousins and his teammates were happy to celebrate their big win, with the quarterback leading the way once they arrived in the locker room.

Cousins embraced Falcons owner Arthur Blank before joining his teammates, who covered him in water after he addressed them.

The Falcons improved to 3-2 with the win on Thursday, tying them with Tampa Bay for the division lead through five games.

The New Orleans Saints can join Tampa and Atlanta atop the division if they're able to move to 3-2, but they'll need to defeat the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs in order to do it.

The Falcons were able to force overtime with a 52-yard field goal from Younghoe Koo, who hit a game-winner last week against another division rival in the New Orleans Saints.

Cousins was able to find Hodge in overtime for the game winning touchdown, as the receiver took his second catch of the game into the end zone. Hodge replaced the injured Drake London, who led all receivers with a massive game.

London ended the night with 12 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown, helping his team earn a hard-fought victory.

The Falcons will continue their journey through the NFC South next week when they take on the struggling Carolina Panthers. If they're able to win, they'll start the season with a 3-0 divisional record, putting them in great position to earn a playoff berth.

We'll see how the rest of the season turns out, but it's clear that the Falcons are in great spirits after an emotional win in front of a national primetime audience.
