The San Francisco 49ers could enter Thursday night's game against the New York Giants without one of their offense's rising stars.

Brandon Aiyuk injured his shoulder early in Week 2's 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams. While the 49ers didn't practice Monday, their estimated injury report disclosed that the wide receiver would not have participated.

Aiyuk opened the season by catching all eight targets for 129 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He settled for three catches for 43 yards Sunday, playing 30 of the offense's 57 snaps.

However, Brock Purdy missed Aiyuk on what could have been a deep strike after blowing past Rams cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

Per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that it's "too early to have all the answers to the injuries." Yet Aiyuk will have less time to recover before Week 3's matchup.

Cornerback Ambry Thomas was also listed as a limited estimated participant, but the Giants could enter the Thursday Night Football Game even more banged up. Star running back Saquon Barkley is expected to miss three weeks with an ankle injury, and offense tackle Andrew Thomas missed Sunday's comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Amazon's Prime Video will stream the game at 8:15 p.m. ET.
