Kansas Star Hunter Dickinson Announces NBA Draft Decision

The 2023-24 season didn't end the way the Kansas Jayhawks would have hoped.
They exited the NCAA Tournament in the second round, suffering a blowout loss at the hands of Gonzaga.
The Jayhawks haven't made it out of the first weekend of the tournament since winning the national title two years ago, but they got some great news on Friday.
Kansas big man Hunter Dickinson says he's coming back for one more year instead of entering the 2024 NBA Draft.
Head coach Bill Self set things up by asking Dickinson if he made a decision on social media.
"Everyone wants to know what you're thinking," the coach said to his star player.
"Yeah you're right coach. I guess it's time to tell everyone I'm coming back! Rock Chalk!," Dickinson replied, confirming that he'll be heading back to Lawrence.
Dickinson averaged 17.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game last season after transferring to Kansas.
He also had interest from Villanova and Kentucky, in addition to Maryland and Georgetown which are near his hometown.
Dickinson was a consensus four-star recruit who committed to and initially played for Michigan under Juwan Howard.
He elected to enter the transfer portal after Michigan missed the tournament in 2023, and decided to join the Jayhawks.
The 2023-24 season was the first time since Bill Self took over as head coach that Kansas did not finish in the top three of the Big 12 standings.
With Dickinson returning and another stellar recruiting class, they should be back among the conference's elite next season, even with a few new members entering the league.
