New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was charged with domestic violence stemming from an incident that allegedly took place last October.
Peppers' girlfriend alleged that he attacked her after she received a phone call from another man, slamming her head against a wall and throwing her down a flight of stairs.
On Friday, Peppers testified on his own behalf, denying that he attacked the woman.
After hearing closing arguments on Friday, a jury deliberated for a short time before returning with a verdict.
According to WBZ's Kristina Rex, the jury has acquitted Peppers of all charges as it pertains to domestic violence and assault.
Peppers admitted that he was in possession of cocaine under oath on Thursday, but vehemently denied all allegations of domestic violence or abuse.
"I think it hurt my reputation," the safety said on Friday after hearing the verdict.
"It was a long three months for me. I lost a lot of my season to this. I couldn't be a part of the team. I encourage every man or woman who has something to lose, if you ever find yourself in a situation like I was in, you have to record it because that might be the only thing that saves you."
In a video and phone call played for the jury during the trial, Peppers can be heard asking the woman to leave his home and calling one of his coaches to explain the situation, expressing regret over the situation.
"Coach. I [expletive]-ed up. She didn't want to leave...she said I put my hands on her," Peppers said in the phone call.
Peppers has been a member of the Patriots roster since 2022, but joined the NFL after a storied career at the University of Michigan back in 2017 as a first round pick.
In addition to the Patriots, Peppers has also played for the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns, who drafted him with the 25th overall pick.
Peppers signed a contract extension with the Patriots in July, but missed the majority of the 2024 campaign due to his ongoing legal matter.
After being acquitted, the Patriots are likely to welcome Peppers back to the team.
