The NCAA Tournament can be stressful on the families of coaches and players. Just ask Megan Calipari.
Throughout the first two games of Arkansas' NCAA Tournament run, Megan has gone viral. One of head coach John Calipari's two daughters, Megan has sat with her mother Ellen and watched nervously as the 10th-seed Razorbacks have eked out wins over seventh-seeded Kansas and No. 2 seed St. John's. At one point, the stress during Arkansas' game against Kansas was so much that CBS cameras caught Megan in the crowd with her head buried in her hands, unable to watch.
"hey guys thanks for asking but no I'm not okay," she later wrote on social media.
Megan again turned heads during the Razorbacks' upset win over St. John's Saturday, and on Sunday afternoon, she shared a few pictures from the afternoon on Instagram.
"big pig energy. 1&2. most importantly got to see @cal_mrs. 3. my dads creative storage solution for his homemade salad dressing in the hotel room. 4. not my first basketball arena nap (or my last)," Calipari captioned the post.
Megan shared phots with her mom from both games, along with one pic of her father's unique solution for storing salad dressing in his hotel room and another one featuring a throwback from the 1996 Final Four when John was coaching UMass.
"Couldn't have asked for a better location!! Pic #3 might be why some call your dad a genius! 😂 Loved suffering thru the games with you! 🖤," Ellen Calipari commented on the post.
The Calipari women have weathered the storms over the years, including the criticism John faced from fans while at Kentucky and earlier this season when Arkansas was struggling.
It's good to see them enjoying these March victories.
With its wins in Providence, Arkansas now moves on to the Sweet 16 on Thursday.
The Razorbacks will take on third-seeded Texas Tech, winners over Drake on Saturday.
A tip time for Arkansas-Texas Tech will be released later today.
