Meet The Wife Of Joe Rogan (1:18)

Longtime podcast host and UFC commentator Joe Rogan has announced a decision on an upcoming trip to Canada.

Rogan, who moved out of California to Texas a couple of years ago, usually doesn't travel internationally for UFC matches. However, there is an upcoming fight night in Montreal, Canada. Given the close proximation to the United States - it's only a four hour flight - many thought that Rogan could be part of the event, which is scheduled for May 10.

However, that will not be happening.

Rogan, 57, announced that he will be staying home, refusing to travel to Canada.

Rogan, who calls most of the UFC fight nights in the United States, decided a while back that he will refuse to travel to Canada. Rogan admitted - jokingly - that he would rather go to Russia.

The UFC commentator had asked his Fight Companion podcast co-hosts about the upcoming bout between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. He was informed that it would be taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

"Wow. I won't be there. I don't go to Canada anymore," Rogan said. "I don't."

Co-host Brendan Schaub responded: "Nor should you. Discipline them."

Rogan added, seemingly jokingly that he'd "rather go to Russia."

Rogan explained on his podcast last July that he wouldn't be traveling to Canada anymore due to some of the country's policies.

"They can come down on you for a lot of things. They seized up the bank accounts for people who were protesting, the truckers. People who were donating to the truckers, they seized their bank accounts," Rogan said. "It's not a good place under this administration, at least."

He added: "I think they're so far into tyranny right now…the erosion of people's rights. I don't want to support it. I think it's horrible."

Things could be changing in Canada moving forward, as there is an upcoming election. It'll be interesting to see if Rogan's opinion on our neighbors to the north changes based on the outcome of the upcoming snap election.
