Joe Burrow Made Unfortunate NFL History In Thursday's Loss To Ravens
Today at 09:48 AM
The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals played another instant classic against one another on Thursday night.
It was a great back-and-forth affair that resulted in the Ravens getting to 7-3 overall while the Bengals fell to 4-6. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase did everything in their powers to will the Bengals to this win but they weren't able to.
Burrow made NFL history in the loss since he finished the game with 428 yards through the air and four touchdowns with no interceptions. It was the second time in NFL history where Burrow had those numbers and yet his team still lost.
Both losses came this year:
There have been 2 instances in NFL history where a QB had:

30+ completions
300+ passing yards
4+ TD passes
multiple 40+ yard TD passes
no more than 1 INT
...and yet still lost. Those 2 instances were Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens in Week 5 & Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens again tonight. pic.twitter.com/vfRaLghMC9
In Week 5, Burrow threw for 392 yards, five touchdowns, and only one interception in the Bengals' overtime loss against the Ravens. In total, he threw for 820 yards and had a 9/1 TD/INT ratio against the Ravens this year.
None of that mattered though since the Bengals lost both games and are still behind the eight-ball this season.
Burrow is having an all-world season, completing 68.7% of his passes for 2,672 yards through the air, 24 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. He'd be more in the NFL MVP conversation if the Bengals had a better record.
They're currently in third place in the AFC North and are running out of time to turn their season around. They'll have to run the table down the stretch to have any hope of securing a wild-card spot.
Their next game will be against the Los Angeles Chargers on November 17 before they host the Pittsburgh Steelers after their bye week on December 1. Those two games may determine the fate of their season.
