Army was almost screwed for its bowl game after Marshall had to pull out due to too many players transferring.

Marshall has been really hit by the portal since it opened this week and had to pull out of its matchup against Army in the Independence Bowl but thankfully, Louisiana Tech has agreed to replace Marshall.

Even though it's unfortunate that Marshall can't play due to the portal, it's great seeing Louisiana Tech getting the chance to continue its season after the program thought it was over. Six wins is the benchmark for being bowl eligible but in a situation like this, a team with five wins can get the nod.

Louisiana Tech will start prepping for that game right away while Army's bowl prep will start after it finishes playing Navy. Saturday is the annual Army-Navy game, with Army winning two in a row and six of its last eight in the series.

Army comes into Saturday's game with an 11-1 record trying to get to 12-1 before the bowl game on December 28. Meanwhile, Navy is 8-3 and is trying to win its ninth game of the year before playing Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl.

You can watch the Army-Navy game on CBS and Paramount + while you can watch the Independence Bowl on ESPN when it gets going at 9:15 p.m. ET on December 28.

Bowl season is almost here and it's going to make for some electric college football.
