'Inappropriate' - Tracy Wolfson's Postgame Question Criticized

03/30/2025 08:10 PM
Tracy Wolfson is taking some heat on social media for the postgame question she asked following No. 1 Auburn's Elite Eight win over No. 2 Michigan State on Sunday evening.
The No. 1 seeded Auburn Tigers took down the No. 2 seeded Michigan State Spartans, 70-64, in the South Regional final in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday evening. Auburn is now off to the Final Four, where the Tigers will be joined by the three other No. 1 seeds - Florida, Duke and Houston.
But Auburn has a major question to answer moving forward - the health of Johni Broome. Auburn's All-American and National Player of the Year candidate went down with an elbow injury late in the second half. Broome was able to return to the game for a couple of minutes, though he didn't appear to be at 100 percent.
Will he be OK for the Final Four battle against fellow SEC foe Florida on Saturday night? Tracy Wolfson wanted to know.
CBS.
Wolfson, moments after Auburn's Elite Eight win over Michigan State, asked Broome straight up if he would be able to play next Saturday against Florida in the Final Four.
"Will you be ready to go next week?" she asked.
"I will be, but all glory to God," he said.

While that was something everyone wanted to know, some are suggesting that it wasn't the right time and place for the question, given that the injury just happened and Auburn was celebrating an Elite Eight win.
"It's disgraceful for the CBS courtside reporter asking Johni Broome about his elbow injury right after he dominated and lead his team to a Final Four appearance," one fan wrote.
"Kinda ridiculous for Tracy to ask Broome if he'd be ready for the final 4… no? Put him on the spot," one fan added.
Meanwhile, while some fans were upset, most of the sports media world praised Wolfson for her work.
Outstanding reports from @tracywolfson on Broome's injury and return. To obtain detailed information — and share it on the broadcast in real time — is very difficult. Great example of sideline reporting from a true professional.

Good report from Tracy Wolfson. Said there was a chance Johni Broome would return but I would be stunned. You can't risk his health.

8 point game and just over 7 minutes to go here.
What do you think about Tracy Wolfson's postgame question to Johni Broome on Sunday night?
Was it fair or not given the time and circumstance?
