Meet Deion Sanders' Future R&B Singer Son-In-Law (1:28)

The 2025 Colorado Buffaloes college football season with mark a new era and some unfamiliar territory for head coach Deion Sanders.

In a recently-released video, Coach Prime conducted his first team meeting as a head coach where he didn't have either his sons Shedeur or Shilo in attendance. Shilo has graduated while Shedeur is off to the NFL. But both of them have been at his side for the bulk of his time as a head coach at either Colorado or Jackson State.

During the meeting, Sanders said that he has been looking forward to the day where he could speak to his players purely as a coach and not as a father. He said he likes the feeling and felt honored to be with so many young men that he had recruited.

"It's an honor and a privilege to be standing before you. It's, uh – I can't explain how happy and how thoughtful and thankful I am for this day. I've been praying about this day. I've been anticipating this day," Sanders said. "You've got to understand this is emotional for me. This is the first day I've been up here without two knuckleheads in here."

"This is the first day I'm coaching without my boys, which is a pleasure and an honor for me. So now I could just be a coach. I don't have to be no dad and I likes that and I love that."

Fans in the comments of the video found it pretty heartwarming to see Sanders speaking so passionately to his new players. Many believe he's showing too much passion to be on the verge of leaving as so many analysts and insiders have suggested:

"I just don't see Coach Prime leaving. I don't need another school giving him basically the keys to the program like Rick George and CU have giving him. He needed CU and CU needed him," one user replied.

"Wow - great message - no one can play the dad mentality on him anymore and he loves not and pressure is off!!!" wrote another.

"May not do the dad walk but 100% he still a father figure to these young me," a third declared.

That said, the rumor mill is still spinning and there remains a glut of rumors that he has interested in playing an active role in his son Shedeur's NFL life, if only up until the 2025 NFL Draft in April.

There have been some rumors that he would specifically take the Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job if it meant getting a chance to coach Shedeur again.

But if Sanders has any ulterior motives behind the scenes, he's masking them fairly well to his players.
