The Carolina Hurricanes look to take game two of the series on the road as they face the New York Rangers. It is time to continue our NHL odds series with a Hurricanes-Rangers Game 2 prediction, pick, and how to watch.

It was a high-scoring game one of the series. Just 2:46 into the game, Mika Zibanejad scored to give the Rangers the lead.  Just over a minute later, Jacob Slavin scored to tie the game. Then, Zibanejad scored on the power play, and Vicent Trocheck added a power-play goal to make it 3-1 after the first period. the game would go scoreless in the second period, but early in the third, the Hurricanes made it close again. Martin Necas scored to make it a one-goal game. Artemi Panarin would answer though, making it 4-2. Set Jarvis would make it a one-goal game again, but the Hurricanes could not complete the comeback and fell 4-3.

Why The Hurricanes Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Hurricanes have been led by Seth Jarvis so far in the playoffs. He has four goals and four assists so far, for eight total points. He also scored a goal in game one of the series, adding to his total. Jarvis was solid in the regular season. He scored 33 times and 34 assists in the regular season. He also had 13 goals and seven assists on the power play.  Martin Necas also scored in game one of the series and has been solid in the playoffs. He has two goals and four assists so far in the playoffs. Also, he has two assists on the power play. Necas was solid in the regular season. He had 24 goals and 29 assists in the regular season.

Sebastian Aho has two assists in the first game with the Rangers and now has two goals and three assists in the playoffs. He has not been a power play facto though, with no power-play points. In the regular season. AHO led the team with 36 goals, 53 assists, and 89 total points. He also scored 11 times and had 21 assists on the power play. Jake Guentzel also had an assist in game one. The mid-season acquisition has been solid in the playoffs, with a goal and four assists so far. He also has two power-play assists.  He had eight goals and 17 assists in 17 games with the Hurricanes in the regular season.

Frederik Andersen struggled in the first game of the series. Be allowed four goals on 23 shots in the first game. So far in the playoffs, he has a .899 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average. Andersen has been hit-and-miss in the playoffs. He has three games over .910 in save percentage, while also has two games below .830 in save percentage.

Why The Rangers Will Cover The Spread/Win

Mika Zibanejad is having an amazing playoff season. He has scored three times with seven assists so far in the playoffs. He scored twice against the Hurricanes in game one. Further, Zibanejad has two goals and four assists on the power play this playoff year. Zibanejad had 26 goals and 46 assists during the regular season. He was also solid on the power play, with 12 goals and 19 assists. Vincent Trocheck is also playing well. He had a goal against the Hurricanes and now has four goals and four assists in the playoffs. Trocheck was great in the regular season. He scored 25 times and had 52 assists. Further, he had 1 goal and 13 assists on the power play.

Artemi Panarin scored in game one of the series, his third goal of the playoffs. Panarin has not had the same production level as he did in the regular season. Panarin led the team with 49 goals, 71 assists, and a total of 20 points in the regular season. Chris Kreider is also having a good playoff season, with two goals and three assists. He was third on the team in points this year with 39 goals and 36 assists.

Igor Shesterkin showed some vulnerability in game one of the series. He allowed three goals on 254 shots in game one. It was tied for his worst game so far in the playoffs. In the playoffs, he has a .921 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average.

Final Hurricanes-Rangers Prediction & Pick

The key in game two of the series will be shots on goal. Both goalies have shown they can struggle with volume. The Hurricanes played well enough to win game one but did not have the shot volume to do it. They also need to stay out of the penalty box. Two of the first-period goals were on the power play. If they can get more shots on target and stay out of the box, the Hurricanes will take the win in this one.
