It's been a busy week for airports in the United States since some college students are on spring break. With that being said, a fire broke out near a popular airport this Wednesday afternoon.
A fire was spotted just northeast of Tampa International Airport, raising concerns about those traveling to the facility in Hillsborough County. Several people, including New York Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch, shared footage of the fire on social media.
Moments ago, Tampa International Airport cleared the air regarding this situation. As of now, there's no active fire on their property. Additionally, their operations haven't been impacted by this fire.
So, what caused this huge cloud of smoke? Apparently, it was a trash fire near Osborne Avenue. Tampa Fire Rescue is already at the scene trying to tame it.
"Tampa Fire Rescue is on scene of a trash fire off of W. Hesperides and Osborne Ave. Firefighters are on scene working to extinguish the fire," the department said. "All updates will be given via X."

Tampa International Airport dealt with delays earlier this week due to severe storms in the area. The last thing it needed was another delay during spring break.
"Yesterday was insane," Rachelle Arnold from Tampa said, via Fox 13 News. "It was advertised as the heaviest, busiest spring break at TPA and absolutely it was. I've never seen anything like that at the airport, even on the busiest holiday, as packed as it was, and then the weather here and everywhere else just compounded it. Delay after delay, cancellation after cancellation."
Hopefully, the next few days will be relatively calm for the Tampa community.
