Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have finally seen their vision laid out before their eyes. On Tuesday night, the TGL debuted on ESPN. Judging by the early reactions, it's a huge hit.

The TGL started with a match between the New York Golf Club and the Bay Tech Golf Club. Fans at the SoFi Center were treated to some exceptional golf from some of the best players in the world, such as Wyndham Clark, Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele. As for those watching at home, they're lucky that ESPN did an excellent job of televising the debut match.

For starters, ESPN had all the golfers mic'd up for this match. Fans got to hear what each guy was thinking before their approach. The network also did an outstanding job of breaking down the rules for this league. Players only have 40 seconds to hit their shots, which creates a pretty hectic yet fun environment when they're on the tees.

During the first hour of this Tuesday's match, countless golf fans raved about the TGL's setup.

"Watching the launch of TGL and I have to say it's fun to see the guys more relaxed," golf influencer Paige Spiranac said. "I think we will really get to see their personalities shine in this format."

"The more the players get comfortable with TGL—the pace, the course, talking [expletive] with each other—the better it will be. But the early signs are positive," Dan Rapaport said. "I'm enjoying this."

"I need the crowd to stay this vocal during TGL matches. Booing bad shots is something I didn't see coming but I like it. I like it a lot," a Barstool Sports personality said.

"Definitely should build some TGL super Sim places around the country… looks like a GREAT time. Shanking drives that won't register.. spraying sand all over the place.. finishing a round in half the time.. would be an absolute blast with the lads," Pat McAfee wrote on X.

The TGL will return next Tuesday when the Los Angeles Golf Club squares off with the Jupiter Links Golf Club.

Hopefully, the TGL is here to stay. It would give fans another league to follow before the major championships come into play.
